2003 GMC S15 Sonoma Extended Cab Pickup

The Chevrolet S-10 is a compact pickup truck produced by Chevrolet.  It was the first domestically-built compact pickup of the big three American automakers. When it was first introduced as a "quarter-ton pickup" in 1981 for the 1982 model year, the GMC version was known as the S-15 and later renamed the GMC Sonoma.

For consignment, from the first owner naming of his “estate truck” what he used for cleanup and errands around the farm and garaged when not in use, we have a low mileage 2003 GMC S15 Sonoma extended cab pickup.  Our current consignor has lots of recent maintenance receipts and updates.  Overall the truck presents with a few scratches and scrapes and dents and dings but looks good exterior and interior and best of all the odometer is showing a mere 66,554 title verified actual miles.

Exterior
Cherry Red Metallic paint covers all rust free surfaces of the truck's extended cab and bed sides.  A shiny edged chrome grille with a GMC badge in the center is flanked by aero inset headlights and all surrounded by the metallic red for the hood and neoprene bumper below.  Quarters, doors and bed sides are all straight and have well minded gaps.  The bed has a black plastic liner for the bed and sides.  For the extended cab there is a smoked rear glass window on either side as well as a smaller entrance door for the rear seat passengers.  For the back, a straight gate and another body matching bumper with a black rubber topper for better climb in the bed grip for your feet.  Standard 15-inch aluminum wheels are wrapped by 205/75R15 rubber from 2016's 43rd week.

Interior
Graphite vinyl and broadcloth covers the interior surfaces.  These doors have a mix of the textured broadcloth and smooth vinyl and on the armrest we can note power locks, power windows and a power mirror toggle.  The front seats are high back charcoal gray broadcloth and present with some slight wear on the seam between the seat back and seat especially on the drivers side.  In back there are single small jump seats that folds down and next to it is a plastic cup holder /storage bin.  So much for “crew cab!” but it does have its own door.  Gray carpeting covers all floors and the headliner is tight and also gray.  The factory steering wheel and charcoal gray dash are in and it is loaded with all the standard features and creature comforts.  

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 4.3 liter V6 engine.  It presents as original and has a bit of patina.  EFI feeds the 6 popper and on back is a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission with 10 bolt 3.42 posi traction final drive.

Undercarriage
Some surface rust is noted in the bottom edge of the frame and suspension.  All else is rust free and all structurally sound.  Independent coil springs front suspension is on and leaf springs for the back.  Power disc brakes are up front and power drums for the back.

Drive-Ability
The truck started quickly, idled smoothly, accelerated nicely and had bias free braking.  It is a comfy cruiser as well and has a good ride for a truck.  

A nice example of the Sonoma Crew cab but at least you have the extra room.  Fairly low miles and ready to go bay to work as an “estate truck”.
