2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

If you talk to a car enthusiast about the Ford Mustang, you'll get a few nods of appreciation.  When you talk to anyone about the Shelby Mustang, you're going to see some jaws drop and maybe even hear some low whistles.  The Mustang is an American icon.  Shelby is an American legend.  The Shelby isn't a car people dream about owning — it's a car people dream about seeing in person.

For consignment and your visual, auditory, and seat of your pants enjoyment, a 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500.  So named because you can expect the output of the engine to be 500hp, and with this car there is no doubt it is. In fact it's more like a dyno proven 584, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.  This 1 of 102 built in Grabber Orange with Tungsten tape stripes car has been treated to the who's who of GT500 performance upgrades, and with 39,548 title verified miles it's clear that our consignor wasn't afraid to show this car off.

Exterior
A caring consignor who paid dedicated attention to details and even added in some performance upgrades over time, renders this 16 plus year old muscle car in near showroom condition.  Dipped, (not literally), in Grabber Orange Clearcoat Metallic, then slap, (not literally), on some unique GT500 badging, Tungsten stripes from the lower front bumper over the hood to the rear deck spoiler, and you are looking racy.  Up front is the air extractor aluminum hood, body integrated headlights and fog lamps, all of which are highlighted by the Shelby specific semi oval snake badged grille and Trufiber carbon fiber lower lip.  Quad 18-inch blacked out American Muscle 2013 Shelby Replica aluminum wheels, and Tungsten GT 500 rocker stripes that stretch between them on both sides frame the lower sections of this modern muscle machine, now you are in Shelby heaven...I'm snake bitten!

Interior
A swing open of the doors will reveal a pair of sport buckets in charcoal leather and matching charcoal tuck and roll inserts.  Some power movement seat options mixed with manual options, and you'll get it “just right” baby bear.  Look in the back and you'll note 2 extra seats in the 2 plus 2 format, in other words 2 more butt grabbers for the audience that will witness the speed show.  “Round” would be the theme on the dash with round gauges called “light-toned” and including a boost gauge AKA the ass kicker gauge.  Air-conditioning emanating of course from round ball style vents and a Pioneer App 4 stereo system with AM/FM/CD and other capabilities…now you are shakkin!  We note the addition of 2 switches on the console to turn the factory subwoofers on and off.  Also seen is a N2MB WOT box in the passengers kick panel that allows for "no lift shifting" and launch control.  These features and programs can be downloaded from the companies website

Drivetrain
A 5.4 Liter DOHC 4V supercharged V8 with fuel injection lights the fire for the fossil burning all courtesy and aided by a ported and polished supercharger with a VMP 2.6" upper pulley and a 10% Innovators West lower pulley/balancer.   Also added are twin JLT oil separators, a Gates "Green" belt, a J2 Fabrication alternator with a Big3 cable kit.  Feeding the air and fossils are VMP dual boost-a-pumps, ID 1050X injectors, a JLT 123mm cold air intake, a VMP high flow ported and polished inlet and a VMP twin 67mm throttle body.  Also added in the mix are a VMP 3x capacity intercooler tank, C&R dual fan heat exchanger, Reische 170 degree thermostat and a Billet Pro Shop lightweight radiator support. This blows back the power to a MGW short throw shifter equipped 6-speed T56 manual tranny that has McLeod RXT clutch.  A Ford 8.8 inch 3.31 TracLok axle is on with Strange C-clip eliminators, hardened lug studs and an Eaton Tru-Trac differential.   Connecting the axle to the driveline is a Dynotech 1-piece aluminum driveshaft.  For the exhale it's as big as the inhale for this healthy mill as it is equipped with Kooks 1 7/8" primary tube headers, a Kooks mid-pipe with high flow cats, Vibrant resonators under the cabin and a 3" Magnaflow Magnapack cat back dual exhaust.  This mill was tuned by Wicked Performance to the tune of 584hp, but it will make more power with a few adjustments, now you are rollin! 

Undercarriage
Showroom condition visually and structurally with SVT tuned suspension in the form of independent McPherson strut front suspension and a 3 link with panhard bar rear suspension.  We see the addition of 1.5" lowering springs, Strange adjustable rear struts, an adjustable panhard bar and Ford Racing anti roll bar.  For the brakes we see high performance power discs all around with 14" Brembos up front.  

Drive-Ability
An overall great experience that will put a smile on your face, and a crease in the butt of your pants, (and hopefully that's all), with great acceleration and handling.  This car shifts smoothly, and runs just fine and all functions worked like they just came off the factory floor.  Now you're thinking about it aren't ya???..YOWZA!

With all the receipts and a high performance enhanced engine this car is dying to have its legs stretched, BUT we here at Classic Auto Mall out of respect did a mild mannered test drive.  However your dreams of a blue oval muscle car, (snake format), in eye-catching orange, with 584hp and seating for the family,  you're thinking grocery gettin, trips to the shore, night out to dinner… to pass it by the significant other..arent you?  Now you're…. smilin'!
