2008 GMC Sierra SLT 1500 Vortec

You may ask what is a Vortec Max? Well, in short it is a high output version of the standard 6.0 liter which features increased power output, and towing capacity. This engine was only offered in high trim packages like the Silverado and Sierra. An additional 20 to 45 horsepower can be yours with this MAX upgrade.

For consignment virtually 1 of 1 built with the options it has, which include an extended cab, short bed, factory Black SLT with a Cashmere leather interior, and of course the MAX engine. A two owner Texas originated truck with a RUST FREE frame (known issue with these trucks). Kept in a garage the entire time, used as a collector truck, and save for a respray on the rear tailgate, totally original in every other way. Babied to the MAX!

Exterior
Code 41U for the Black paint which is the deep end of the pool as far as shine and presentation. This covers straight steel panels with no rust, and well minded gaps. Standing next to this truck she's waaaaay up there! A large chrome encircled grille flanked by dual headlights which wrap around to turn signals on the front quarters and a large bumper below with inserted running/fog lights, all looking fab and mirror like. Big doors allow access to the front, and a mini “suicide door” allow access for the rear passengers, hence the extended cab. Tinted glass is all around, and the rear short bed is in excellent unmarred condition wrapped with a thick plastic molded to the interior liner. A towing package is on, and this 4x4 has 17-inch shiny wheels wrapped with like new 245/70R17's on all 4 corners.

Interior
Swinging the doors to climb inside the panels are molded light tan and brown, sculpted to house a plethora of power toggles inset into a wood grained panel on the door pull. Gazing inside, pristine tan leather big buckets flank an equally large center console with big storage, a couple of cup holders, and center vertical dash panel rising from the console which houses the large screen AM/FM/CD/XM/MP3 radio and Navi screen. Climate controls are just below and bordering on either side above are the vents for the A/C and heat, and a wide wood burl trim which eventually melts into the padded dash top above in tan vinyl. The instrument panel glows a terrific cobalt blue backlight and is very clean. Even the steering wheel has fingertip controls at your fingertips…YUP! The rear compartment is nice and roomy, has climate controls on the back of the console, and is also in beautiful unmarred leather. Clean brown carpet floods the floors, and a tight headliner with a storage unit above the rear-view mirror is above.

Drivetrain
A nicely detailed engine bay hides the big 6.0 liter Vortec MAX V8 with EFI and a 4L70-E 4-speed automatic transmission. A 3.73 limited slip rear axle is on and this will MAX us out on the drivetrain.

Undercarriage
Too large for our lift, but we can look underneath, and we note no rust on the frame, floorpans, bed bottom, and unibody framing. Independent coil springs are upfront, and on back are leaf springs. Power disc brakes are on all over. Road dirt is minimal if existent at all, and it is really well-preserved underneath. Garage time has helped tremendously. No drips for the transfer cases either…

Drive-Ability
Climbing inside, I felt like I was King of the road. Nice ride height, smooth acceleration that goes on and on, and good handling for a 4x4. All modes worked perfectly, as did all conveniences and power buttons. A nice ride enjoyed to the MAX!

Well preserved with just a few faults on the paint in the form of some scratched, but these are few and far between. Plenty of convenience options and literally a check of the VIN code and you have a 1 of 1 truck with these options. 4 wheeling never looked so good, and neither did luxury and comfort.
