1992 Buick Roadmaster

S & S was founded in 1876 as the Sayers and Scovill Company by William Sayers and A. R. Scovill. The funeral coach business was thriving at the turn of the 20th century, and sharp competition helped create the superlative standards of craftsmanship and design which remain an S&S tradition to this day.

For consignment an 8-passenger Buick Roadmaster/Sayers and Scovill Stretched Limousine. A low mileage (40,400) 2-owner car which was originally purchased by a funeral director as an overflow car, then exchanged out to match their existing black Cadillacs, our consigner snapped it up.

Exterior
With every inch covered in dark gray paint, we can see some scratches, and chips in the paint. The 6 doors are straight and show nice consistent gaps. A belt line stainless trim piece runs the length of this car and is in good condition. Exterior lighting is clear, and all in working condition. Chrome bumpers present nicely although not perfect, in good condition. Wire wheels are noted on all 4 corners. Topping everything off is a vinyl covered roof.

Interior
8 passengers can be accommodated comfortably in this Blue Velour covered seating area. Door panels see the same treatment, but have some woodgrain added. Controls for power windows, power mirror, and power locks are mounted within each door. Blue carpeting covers the floors and seem to have faded a bit to a more green color. The two rear rows of seating are bench seats. A tight headliner hovers above the seats.

Drivetrain
An original 5.7 Liter V8 sits in the engine bay and has electronic fuel injection. In back of this engine, is a 4L60 4-speed automatic transmission.

A spacious example of a Roadmaster, pile your friends in and go out for a night on the town, or pack up all your beach belongings, and load up the grandkids and head to the shore. Use it to drive your Mother-In-Law around. Start an airport pickup service, and you could be an UBER Uber. Plenty of life left in this gal, so think of all the possibilities, and don't turn too sharply!
