2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S

2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S

As the story goes, Aston Martin wasn't 100 per cent on board with having the DB5 on the silver screen. In a way, Eon Productions had to beg Aston Martin to so much as “lend” them a DB5 prototype for Goldfinger. Then, Goldfinger hit theaters…Hard. It was a runaway success and the DB5 captured the hearts and minds of many. The fact that it was fitted with certain enhancements such as oil slicks, concealed machine guns, tire shredders and, of course, an ejector seat, was the icing on the cake. The Aston Martin Vanquish S debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, with much increased engine power, beautiful aerodynamic lines, and plenty of conveniences. A marked difference and a long way from the original DB5, but still holding the James Bond style.

For Consignment a car for the person who just may want to go around with the capability to go 200 MPH. Where exactly one would do this, I'm not currently at liberty to say, but there are places. Otherwise you do not have to go maximum speed, you can just to choose to show up in the ultimate style supercar todays money can buy. All hand built and all quality to excess.

Exterior
With just shy of 40,500 miles, and bathed in slick black with some visual changes to this '06 model including new wheels, a slightly different nose shape, a new raised boot lid with a larger integrated spoiler incorporating the third high level brake light (in the rear window on the original Vanquish), a Vanquish S badge on the boot lid (the original Vanquish had no rear model designation) and the addition of a small front splitter (although this was mainly done for aerodynamic reasons). As part of its improvements, the Vanquish S had a slightly improved drag coefficient. This supercar has very little markings on it, straight panels still lovingly hand finished in the factory panel shop from 'Superformed' aluminum from the plant in Newport Pagnell. We note well minded gaps, and stunning curvaceous lines to boot!

Interior
Inside the Vanquish S shows what could be achieved with beautiful hand stitched leather. The dashboard and many of the smaller interior pieces are trimmed in hide adding to the bespoke feel of the already impressive 2+2 cabin. Highlighting areas within the black, are brushed aluminum trim, which adds beautiful contrast and cold texture. This car has an adopted updated paddle switchgear, an Aston Martin audio system, and several pushbutton drive modes, and all the power conveniences and hands-free hookups one would want. Hovering above is a pristine suede headliner.

Drivetrain
The engine displacement is at 5,935 cc (5.9 L-362.2 cu in), and power is 520hp. We note a wonderfully clean engine bay looking near showroom. Attached to the back of this V12 is a 6-speed manual gearbox with Auto Shift Manual/Select Shift Manual (ASM/SSM) electro-hydraulic control system.

Undercarriage
Loaded with aerodynamic ground effects panels, absolutely clean, and pristine underneath. The car sports a Quicksilver exhaust (meaning full Titanium) running from front to back.

With a top speed exceeding 200 mph, the Vanquish S was (as measured by top speed capability) the fastest Aston Martin automobile ever produced until the One-77 was introduced in 2008. Also, you can carry 4 passengers in this car.
