1969 Chevrolet C20

1969 Chevrolet C-20 Special

The Chevrolet C-20 designation can be confusing at times, with the C-10, C-20, C-30, and then the line of K designations to throw in as well. The difference being between C & K is the C is 2-wheel drive, and K is 4-wheel drive. The numerical designation denotes weight maximum. 10 is 1/2 ton, 20 is 3/4 ton, and 30 is 1 ton.

Here at Classic Auto Mall we get units in that are pristine, very expensive, and very rare. Then we get classics in that have a story. No they are not pristine, yes they can sit outside, and yes they run great, but they are far from perfect, BUT it's the story…I give you the story: One about a father and son that may have their differences, but decided to find something to do that they would both enjoy, maybe never had any experience in doing any task, but it was the bonding, the father son experience of working out problems. They got it to where it runs great, drives nicely, and is presentable. Their goal was accomplished. Now you have the opportunity to take it and run with it as you wish…maybe another father daughter project to finish it off?

Cranberry paint is on the outside. Rust has been mostly remediated, and paint applied. Badging was left off and bumpers are original to the truck. Large chrome wheels have been added, and amazingly it made this truck have a nice ride.

Sift your way under the Turkish rugs and Amish blankets, and you will see the original bench seat, and flooring. There are rips tears, and faults, but it's a project!

A 350ci crate engine from Advance Auto Parts is installed. It runs as mechanically sound, there is a bit of anti-freeze on top, it may be a loose hose fitting, it may be a gasket.

Original, no real structural issues found, some typical surface rust, rockers are clean from rust, undercarriage is in overall good condition. A new free flow exhaust has been installed.

An original Camper C20 the clamps for the camper straps are still on the sides of the truck. Newer crate engine, no real body issues, and 2 signatures (if you will) at the front of the truck near the hood line showing the bonding, bond, teamwork, and motor work a dad and his son did together...I think we need more of that..
