2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

The Ford SVT Mustang Cobra (also known as SVT Mustang Cobra, SVT Cobra, or simply as Cobra) is a muscle car/pony car model that was built in model years 1993 through 2004 by Ford Motor Company's Special Vehicle Team division (or SVT, for short). The SVT Cobra was a high-performance version of the Ford Mustang, considered as top-of-the-line as it was positioned above the Mustang GT and Mach 1 models during its era of production.

A low mileage (consigner stated 22,677) high performance Mustang, created in limited numbers, and it's a Cobra…plus it's a convertible! How could it get any better for the Ford Muscle Fanatic?

Exterior
Competition Orange Clearcoat paint covers this mostly unassuming mild-mannered Mustang convertible. Save for the front grille emblem being a snake instead of a galloping horse, one would never know the sheer energy this car can produce...until you light the fire and hear the growl of the exhaust…17” bright wheels covered in performance rubber, and rear spoiler may give it away just a bit too. The paint, and convertible top look virtually new, the top performs flawlessly, and includes a boot for a sleeker look when the sun is being enjoyed.

Interior
Opening the unassuming door, you see a fairly unassuming but sporty interior which includes dark Charcoal Leather (suede inserts embroidered with a Cobra logo) and shiny leather bolsters. These keep a sporty center console in black vinyl and plastic in line. The console curving its way up the dash where we see white field gauges with black markings sitting in the middle of a black background...stunning! A rear bench with 2+2 like individual seats in the same suede and leather combo stretch from door to door. Speaking of doors, the swooping door handles/armrests contain all the controls such as power windows, power mirrors and power locks anyone would expect. Black carpeting floods the floor and is immaculate.

Drivetrain
The sweetest meat is closest to the bone, and here we see some real sweetness, in the form of a 4.6 Liter DOHC 32 Valve V8. Attached to it are a Roots Type Eaton Supercharger that is water to air cooled allowing the mill to produce 390hp and 390 lb/ft of torque. A T56 6-speed transmission is attached to the rear and pushes power to the 3.55:1 gear with a traction loc differential. I smell burning rubber?!

Undercarriage
Of course, immaculate/pristine/near perfect on this car, but also seen are 4-wheel independent suspension, Bilstein gas charged monotube dampers, and Brembo brakes. For less weight an aluminum driveshaft and an aluminum flywheel were strapped on.
Muscle cars ebb and flow with the price of a gallon of gas. There are though, those diehard fans, Ford or Chevy, or whomever, who don't give a hoot about the price of gas, they just want to smell rubber, and have their neck snapped backwards when the hit the throttle. This car will definitely satisfy both these needs, and damn the torpedoes when it comes to the price at the pump…you are putting in hi test anyway.
