2018 Nissan NV3500

2018 Nissan NV3500

“One of the first things we noticed about the van was how quiet it was.  Now, we were coming from a Sprinter, where we sat on top of the engine, so just about anything would seem quieter.  But when you've got a bunch of people in the car, it's important to be able to hear each other.  Driving in the car is part of “family togetherness” but it's useless if we can't understand what anyone has to say.  In the NV, as long as the music isn't turned up too loud, I can hear the requests/demands/complaints/jokes/stories from the child in the very back seat.” Loralynnfanning.com

For consignment, a 2018 Nissan NV3500 with a title verified 28,447 actual miles.  If you have a big family, or a big race team, or just have a need for a 12 passenger van, check out this one owner black beauty.  Maybe you're looking to convert a van to a “glamper” and want the space but not the price tag of the Mercedes Sprinter, this cavernous carrier fits the bill.

Exterior
If Darth Vadar were to transport Stormtroopers, this would be the ideal ride, decked out in monochromatic black including the big gaping grille, bull guard, and even the aftermarket 17-inch Method wheels.  And for those times when you veer from the beaten path, all terrain LT245/75/17's are on board. (Don't go too deep into the snow as the van is rear wheel drive only!).  The protruding nose of the van houses the engine in the traditional automotive layout which leaves lots of room inside, as we'll see.  For now, the slab sided van with tinted windows is like a tall black bread box with overtly square angles and long, flat roofline.  The headlights are flush to the body in the only bit of aero provided, and a pair of fog lights perch on the bull bar.  Out back, the black bumper doubles as a step up for the rear section.  The paint is great and dent free and we could find no glaring exterior imperfections.

Interior
The clean, utilitarian vibe starts with the front door panels which are molded gray plastic, hard surfaces that are easy to clean and hold up well and this material is consistent through the inside of the sliders and wall coverage.  Tall buckets seats occupy the front in two shades of gray vinyl while the other 10 seats are monochromatically gray but share much of the design and some of the support.  Up front, a fairly standard modern Nissan steering wheel and instrument cluster greets the driver and for a minute, you might think you've landed in a familiar base Rogue.  A 5” screen is provided in the middle and relays the ever important back up camera shot, as well as info from the AM/FM/CD player with Bluetooth capabilities.  Rubber floors are outdoor recreation and pet friendly, while the huge headliner is lined with more vents than a 737.

Drivetrain
Lifting the sizable hood reveals a 4.0 liter DOHC V6 rated at 261 horsepower, fuel injected, and moved into action via a CVT transmission sending power to the rear axle with 3.61 gears.  The bay is clean and free of dirt and grease build up.  Power disc brakes are supplied on all four wheels.

Undercarriage
A bit too tall for our lifts, but the high riding van affords clear views of the underside which is driver quality and dry and showing the typical surface rust on untreated metals.  Frame rails and components are substantial, and we do not see errant grease or oil anywhere.  The single exhaust still flows through the original equipment muffler and exits inconspicuously through a steel tail pipe behind the right rear wheel.  Front suspension is comprised of Macpherson struts and the rear has leaf springs.

Drive-Ability
This is one of the larger vehicles we've driven recently and although not immediately obvious from the outside, the entire upper half is made up of windows, so visibility is better than expected and the rear window allows clear views through the rear view mirror, although we're also without passengers.  Meanwhile, the V6 delivers good power and the high van tracks straight and has the expected amount of roll around turns, and ground clearance over curbs if you had to prematurely jump out of the Starbucks drive thru for any reason.  There are not a lot of frills on board and that makes for a high score on our functionality test where everything works as it should.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

There are so many uses for this van; it would be difficult to list all the possibilities.  But any time there's a need to transport a group of up to 12 people in comfort, this Nissan is up to the task.  Seats are removable so different configurations can be formed.  Taking some kids to a prom?  Leave the back row for the ultimate limo experience!  Or you can go extreme and create an overland excursion vehicle that you can sleep in between National Park visits!  Got a business transporting fine art?  Boom!  Your ride has arrived.  Whatever your needs, be sure to call the more to inquire about this NV3500 today!
