1953 Ford F100 Pickup
1953 Ford F100 Pickup
Early on in the history of Ford Motor Company a noticeable lowercase “e” completed the curl at the back of the cursive F on the Ford name. Henry Ford, and Thomas Edison both had winter estates in Ft. Meyers Florida, and shared ideas and cigars. One Idea that would make Ford a real innovator was the concept of the assembly line. This original idea came from Edison, and in deference to him and his idea, Henry Ford honored him in his early logo with that “e” on the curl, and as they say the rest is history!
Take a 1953 F100 Truck, take it all apart, take it off the frame, then painstakingly replace or renew every bolt as needed when you put it back together, then while doing so add all kinds of goodies and performance upgrades as well as some eye candy. You now have this for consignment this awesome truck that has 453 (thats four hundred fifty-three) miles on it since the restoration. Talk about hopping in and turning the key!
Straight off the farm in New Jersey, a low mileage cab was sandblasted, a custom firewall installed, new floors put in, and new cowl panels and rockers to provide a truly solid cab. The remainder of the truck was assembled from brand new reproduction rust free parts purchased from SoCal, Mid Fifty Ford, and LMC. The bed has been tubbed to accommodate up to an 18” tire. To finish the bed, white oak with a custom burned with an original Ford Motor Corporation logo. Finish all the metal off with a perfectly sprayed on satin black, add some surfer's cross taillights, chrome the normally painted grille, and viola…you are in 235/45-R18 on an 18 x 8 rim front, and 315/55-R20 on 20 x 10 rim on the rear heaven.
The interior is finished with Mid Fifties ABS door panels, headliner, rear cab panels, and a black LMC rug. A TMI custom leather and suede seat stretches from door to door, and glides on one of their custom adjustable slide tracks. Insert a Dolphin 6-gauge set, that modernizes the interior, and includes a 7” Pioneer touch screen DVD radio equipped with Bluetooth, backup camera, and parking sensors. “You are now entering the lap of luxury” ...please hold on!
383ci Chevy stroker with an SBC Turbo 3 speed transmission and throw in a shift kit, and a 10” 2200-2600 stall converter, and hold on to your neck. Connect this to a 9” rear with 3.73 posi trac, and you are in pickup truck go go mode.
Moving over to the no stone left unturned department, a clean factory chassis that's been sandblasted, boxed reinforced, primed then painted black textured bedliner urethane, supports an IFS front suspension system, tubular upper and lower control arms, and a rack and pinion steering. Add power front disc and rear drum brakes and hold it all to the ground with a 4 bar/4 link coil over setup, and its gentlemen start your engines!
There are those rare individuals that upon taking on a project, do their research, and want nothing but the best mainly because their name is on it, or it is their legacy. Nothing wrong with that, especially when it shows up at your front door as a consignment, looks and drives like it does, and has a mere 453 miles on it since all that effort was put into it. Someone who acts quickly will be the lucky dog. Buy it and be assured to never come home without a trophy.
