1946 Ford Deluxe

1946 Ford Deluxe

With its wind-swept design and classic good looks, Ford's DeLuxe series has always been a rare and highly desirable line of cars. Not surprisingly, gearheads, customizers and 80 years' worth of dedicated fans have elevated it to one of hot rodding's greatest cultural icons.

Hot Licks Turquoise sums up this modernized hot rod sedan. Consigner stated all steel, welded/molded body, and countless hours of build time bring you this unique Deluxe

Exterior
Viewing shaved door handles, doors are now actuated by a remote entry. Vent windows have been removed for a simpler look. Frenched headlights and taillights make the smooth lines of this car even smoother. Virtually no exterior chrome save for the moon hubcaps, rims, and exhaust pipe tips. A deep maroon stripe works its way across the belt line and takes a little detour at the door panel, then makes up its mind to carry on. Noted, a telescoping antenna has its round cove to hide in when not in use. Otherwise we are looking at miles of curved steel covered with gallons of Hot Licks Turquoise.

Interior
Recognizable as Pontiac Fiero cloth bucket seats, they have a headrest speaker inserted. A matching pattern rear bench, and thick pile gray carpeting, and a beautifully matching short pile cloth covers the headliner and visors. The gray fiberglass dash shows a little metal flake added and houses a beautiful custom shape burl insertion that in turn houses the S/W Gauges. Fronting the dash is a telescoping tilting Caddy steering wheel that will adjust to anyone who decides to take this rod for a ride.

Drivetrain
Sitting within an all new engine bay, a 283ci V8 with all its matte finish glory, headers, mild cam and Edelbrock intake, has been bored .30 over. Bolted on back is a 350 automatic Turbo transmission, and a rebuilt Lokar floor shifter. Remainder of the drivetrain is made up of 1967 Chevelle all meticulously gone over during the build.

Undercarriage
Clean and mean all no rust surfaces, that show power front disc brakes, and power rear drums. The tubing on the rockers has blue neon attached and can be turned on from the cockpit.

Step up and take your licks with this truly original concepted rad rod. A simplified version of the Deluxe, with virtually new everything, this baby can be driven down the road all the while getting 24 MPG. A quick starter, smooth shifter, and comfortable interior will have you and your friends jumping out of the car at the local drive in, and attracting all kinds of questions, and attention. “You Ain't Nuthin But a Hound Dog!”
