1995 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Hardtop Convertible

1995 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Hardtop Convertible

The Ford SVT Mustang Cobra, (also known as SVT Mustang Cobra, SVT Cobra, or simply as Cobra), is a muscle car/pony car model that was built in model years 1993 through 2004 by Ford Motor Company's Special Vehicle Team division, (or SVT, for short). The SVT Cobra was a high-performance version of the Ford Mustang, considered as top-of-the-line as it was positioned above the Mustang GT and Mach 1 models during its era of production. On three occasions, the race-ready, street-legal SVT Cobra R variant was produced in limited numbers.

For consignment, a SN95 chassis 1995 Mustang Cobra SVT. It is an all original car and has been pampered by the owner spending the first year of its life in the dealer showroom as per an agreement. This is car 614 of 1003 made in 1995 and this is number 499 of the 1003 had the hardtop option. It is car 178 of the 499 all of which were available only in black. The car has an amazing mere 10,276 title verified miles!

Exterior
Leading the way is the galloping horse. This small grille is surrounded by black neoprene which forms the lower bumper with inset circular fog lights. Aero fit to the body headlights and wrap around parking lighting and signals garnishes each corner. The long pony car hood has a small oval air intake on either side and bumps up against black painted wipers and glass surround of the front windshield. Front quarters have a cobra badge and the rockers are flared out, which are below nicely fitted doors with black handles. The rear quarters have faux air intakes and these have a reminiscent form of the hockey stick cove which is handed off from the door midline. A curved rear glass gently makes its way to the trunk deck which is short, and sports a black sculpted rear spoiler. Just below we note a blue oval and an SVT badge. On the back the stacked trio red lenses wrap around the rear quarters. Dual exhaust and a nicely preserved neoprene rear bumper hang below the trunk lid and rear tail lights. Don't forget the hardtop in matching black, and when it's off the black canvas convertible top moves up and down flawlessly. Also, the paint is in really nice factory flawless condition. 17 inch Cobra wheels are present.

Interior
Sporty design for the door panels in black molded plastic uppers with saddle lowers in oval sculpted surrounds house the window controls, rear view mirror toggles, and door actuator. Wonderfully saddle leather with some age appropriate folds is on the front buckets with large side bolsters and headrests all present. A tight rear 2 plus 2 bench is in back and also is Saddle leather. The dash utilizes dual swoop open eyebrows if you will, and these come together in the center to form the center console. White faced gauges are in front of the driver and steering wheel and in the center are the radio and climate controls, as well as the shift lever. Tan carpeting covers the floors, and Cobra badged and stitched floor mats protect it. A smooth felted headliner in black hovers above on the hardtop and is nice and tight.

Drivetrain
A pop of the oval side scooped hood, and we see the 5.0 liter mill underneath. The engine has GT-40 heads, EFI and a T5 5-speed manual transmission on the back. The rear axle weighs in at 8.8 inches, and is a 3.08 TracLoc version. No corrosion, supple shiny hoses and nice black engine bay paint abound.

Undercarriage
Just like it should be showing with slight road dirt and no rust. Floor pans are rust free and solid in their stamped steel look. Dual factory headers lead to a dual exhaust, front independent coil sprung suspension and a 4 link with coil springs for the rear are noted. Power disc braking is on all 4 corners.

Drive-Ability
It fired right up with the 5.0 roar, and off to the test track I went. It performed flawlessly, had nice acceleration, bias free braking, and smooth shifting and a like new feeling clutch. All functions were in working condition, but the window toggles were just a bit finicky.

An example of the 1995 SVT Cobra looking good and in rare hardtop/convertible form. The AC blows cold, and the engine bay appears original and nicely preserved. The interior is just beautiful and the exterior paint flawless. Certified by Ford's SVT division and all original documents come with the car. Along with a few extras just ask a specialist.
