1957 Chevrolet 150 2 Door Sedan

The Chevrolet Two-Ten, or 210, was the midrange model of Chevrolet from 1953 to 1957. It took its name by shortening the production series number (2100) by one digit in order to capitalize on the 1950's trend toward numerical auto names. The numerical designation '"210"' was also sporadically used in company literature. It replaced the Styleline DeLuxe model available in previous years. The Two-Ten was discontinued after the 1957 model year to be replaced by the Biscayne. The Two-Ten shared the wedge-shaped side trim with the Bel Air, but unlike the Bel Air (which had the wedge filled with an aluminum trim panel) the Two-Ten's wedge was painted either body color, or top color with the optional two-tone paint package. "Chevrolet" in script was mounted inside the wedge.

This consignment is a bit of an oxymoron, as it presents beautifully on the exterior, and restored interior, but contains an issue that potentially could affect the stability of all that work put in the above exterior and interior. Frame rust through can be seen in various areas. Body mounts appear stable, but upon closer look they were sprayed with rustproofing to cover structural flaws where they meet the frame. Other structural elements are experiencing the same phenomenon and need to be closely inspected.

Exterior
Deep Turquoise surrounds the front and sides of the car. Where the rear quarter panels begin, a white paint appears covering the panel from the belt line up, over the trunk lid and the entire roof. Tons of brite work, badging and bumpers all is showing with a few faults, pitting and patina. A side view reveals the other difference from the Bel Air in the form of a B pillar. Wrap around glass in front and back as well as the tasteful fins on the rear make a stunning profile. American racing wheels, Dagmars and a shining silver grille present fair and add additional bling. 2 hood mounted rocketlike trim pieces form trails that move straight back in the form of small bumps on the hood.

Interior
Gray crushed velour bolsters frame turquoise checkered pleated insides, turquoise piping and turquoise seat belts. The front has a split back bench, and a full rear bench, which are all emblazoned with the Chevy bowtie in the turquoise checkered pattern on the tops of the seats. Door panels have the similar treatment but without the piping. Somewhat faded pink carpeting flows through out, and four Chevrolet floor mats cover areas where your feet would reside. The exterior matching dashboard appears as it did in the original configuration, with gauges knobs and sliders in chrome contrast. Under mounted air conditioning, a Sony radio and CD player, and a cluster of three aftermarket gauges hang from the bottom of the dash.

Drivetrain
A flip of the hood and a V8 is revealed and it looks in clean condition. This engine has Corvette Valve Covers, and a chromed aftermarket air cleaner. Some parts have been chromed and other parts are cleaned, showing no corrosion.

Undercarriage
Clean but with the aforementioned issues presented in photos.

This car is overall a nicely done restoration but with a failure to keep running to cross the finish line. An overall good presentation, clean example, in the hands of the right person could be all but perfect as most of the work is completed.
