2000 Jaguar XJ8

2000 Jaguar XJ8 Sedan

The Jaguar XJ8 model #X308 was built by Jaguar Cars from 1997-2003. The X308 was an evolution of the X300 platform with the major changes being the AJ-V8 engine and a new interior instrument panel. The XJ8 was the base model in the XJ line up with the supercharged XJR and super luxurious Sovereign models completing the product line up. The base XJ8 was well equipped however, sporting leather interior, full power options, sunroof, walnut veneer interior accents and alloy wheels. In all, 8,369 XJ8's were produced during their six year production cycle.

Offered for auction at no reserve is this 2000 Jaguar XJ8 Sedan in Carnival Red Mica with a perfectly aged but not abused Cashmere leather and walnut burl interior and sporting 105,740 title verified miles. Equipped with all power features including electric sunroof, windows, locks, cruise, ac, AM/FM cassette stereo and automatic climate control. Powered by the 290hp 4.0 liter V8, this XJ8 is offered with only available transmission, the automatic ZF 5-speed. The Jaguar comes equipped with nearly new tires and presents an opportunity to experience the British regal luxury in motoring at a very modest cost. This year still hangs on to the dual headlight, separate chromed grille, and non integrated bumper version for the exterior. A seemingly solidly built car, in 4 doors is nice with steel showing a few dents, scrapes, and dings. The chrome and trim is nicely preserved and is utilized sparingly and tastefully on this car.

For the test drive I decided to have my genius decoder and pro driver take me for a cruise anywhere other than the test track. We wound our way through the countryside of Berks County, and I was treated to a pleasurable chauffeured experience. A shout out to the stereo which saved me from him droning on about all the features of this beautiful car! But I digress and it does provide a great comfortable but slightly noisy ride. We noted that the front struts, bushings and tower plates have been replaced but one strut was not tightened and dropped down into the wheelhouse. We also noted the check engine light was on possibly due to a missing gas cap and we caught the aroma of coolant coming from the engine bay. Big hard, bid fast, and bid often on this luxury sedan from across the pond. Quite right, you're bloody well right!
