1952 Oliver 66 Row Crop Tractor

In 1855, James Oliver of Mishawaka, Indiana bought 1/4 interest in a small foundry outside of South Bend. In 1857, he received his first patent for his chilled plow. This chilled plow had a very hard outer skin and was able to scour in heavy, sticky soils with greater wearability. Word of its success spread world-wide, resulting in an enormous amount of plows being manufactured and sold. Oliver soon became known as the "Plowmaker for the World." In the 1920's, Oliver began experimenting with a tractor of their own. The result was the "Oliver Chilled Plow Tractor." Only one example of this tractor is known to exist today. Shortly after their tractor venture, Oliver merged with Hart-Parr, who already was set up in the tractor business. A new line of tractors was produced using ideas from the Chilled Plow tractor and Hart-Parr's past experience.

For consignment for the collector, a “row cropper” known as such because of its front wheels close together to be able to navigate rows planted without running over the actual crop! This tractor is immaculately restored by a Macungie, Pennsylvania restorer and tractor expert, and has been shown and won many awards. It's all correct, and just beautifully done, runs great and able to pull a float in a parade, or do actual farm work. All complete, all functional, let's get plowed!

All straight steel construction bathed in green with yellow accenting, and red lettering and wheels. Speaking of the wheels we have 38-inch wheels on the back and the close knit 15-inch front wheels. Spacing of said wheels can easily be changed depending on your crop width. This tractor is sporting some aerodynamic design with all rounded steel panels and all covered engine, and even exhaust ports. The front is beautifully curved and highlighted in yellow with some red lettering and badging. On back is a large hitch setup, and a full metal perch seat.

A working 129ci Inline 4-cylinder putts along as it is fed by a Marvel Schebler 1-barrel carburetor. It is equipped with a 6-speed forward transmission, and a two-speed reverse transmission. It has electric start and stops with contracting band rear brakes. This all metal construction will last for many years to come.

All working condition, it will just need a bit of coaxing to get 'er going. A fine example of the Oliver 66 Row Cropper Tractor. Can you dig that?
