1999 BMW Z3 Coupe

1999 BMW Z3 Coupe

The company's home state of Bavaria was also to be represented on the company logo. The quarters of the inner circle on the BMW badge display the state colors of the State of Bavaria – white and blue. But they are in the inverse order, (at least as far as heraldic rules are concerned, where you read clockwise from the top left). The reason for this inverse order of blue and white in the BMW logo was the local trademark law at the time, which forbade the use of state coats of arms or other symbols of sovereignty on commercial logos. A 1929 BMW ad depicts the BMW emblem, complete with the four colored quadrants, in a spinning airplane propeller. The interpretation that the BMW logo represents a propeller has endured ever since.

For consignment, a BMW Z3 coupe from 1999. This silver snappy sports car has ceramic protected paint and recent full dealership service including some new brakes, seat bushings, new front and rear glass, a Dinan intake, and it rides on Cinturato P7 tires. Very noice!

Exterior
The front of the car is true BMW with its kidney shaped grille openings, aero headlights and wide neoprene bumper. All bathed in Arctic Silver Metallic and fronting a long hood making it the quintessential pony car. On the front quarters are some shark like openings for airflow and looks. It has a large sunroof on the top and a stubby rear hatchback. Some light tinting to the glass and 17-inch alloy multi thin spoked wheels are wrapped in Cinturato rubber in staggered width format from 2021.

Interior
High back leather buckets all smooth and sleek have some nicely supporting bolsters in their edges. A center console with some wood appliqué accenting runs between the chairs and houses the shifter. This rises to the dash which adds a nice accenting to said dash all in black. Plenty of buttons and sliders are in the central dash ascending panel and in front of the driver is a lineup of sweep gauges 2 large central circles and 2 smaller flanking gauges. Clean gray carpeting covers the floors, which includes the rear storage area behind the front 2 seats, accessible from the hatchback. A cargo net is noted behind the seats and the area has a pullout covering.

Drivetrain
Crammed under the long hood is a 2.8 L I-6 cylinder engine with EFI and a 5-speed manual transmission on back and a 3.23 final drive axle. All clean and looking sporty under this hood.

Undercarriage
Very clean where we note plenty of the typical German engineering aero panels covering virtually everything. Front suspension is Macpherson strut independent suspension, and on back are independent coil springs. All new power disc braking is all around.

Drive-Ability
This car fired right up and drove and handled like a true sports car. It has nice solid braking and some good power from the I-6 EFI mill. All functions were working at the time of my drive.

A sporty car with a ling front end and a snubbed hatch back with plenty of extra hauling space in back. Go fast and take your stuff along, what else could you want?
