1947 Ford Sedan

1947 Ford Sedan

Henry Ford based his business model early on as company that would create cars for the masses, the common man. This was the Model T, of which they made millions! Fast forward to 1947 where America was post war, prosperous and had an ever-increasing middle class. That original concept was kicked in for the Ford Sedan. The late 1940's version of the car for the common man.

This consignment could be considered an early restoration-mod. It has retained most of its original charm but has been upgraded with a 302ci V-8, custom cloth interior, and given a full once over. A few items of bling, and voila!...we give you this '47 Ford Sedan.

Exterior
A deep black, chromed belt line arrows, chrome bumpers, chrome accented fenders, 2 door modified sedan will live up to the phrase “fanfare for the common man” A nice set of original fenders, on all 4 corners, a split windshield framed in chrome, and a beautifully styled grille visually tell people you are to go to the front of the parade. Chromed steel solid 5 bolt wagon wheels with Goodrich T/A's ground this sedan and help with some handling as well.

Interior
Gray tweed cloth buckets with stitching reminiscent of an old metal porch chair in front, and a matching bench in back. Door panels keep the same stitched motif and are covered in the tweed as well. Up front, an original Art Deco styled black metal dash, peppered with chrome and machined aluminum knobs, houses round gold numbered accented speedometer and clock. 4 rectangular gauges front an original steering wheel which presents in excellent condition. An original heater is seen under the dash, as well as a long shift lever and gray carpeting. A light gray felt headliner floats above the passenger area and shows with no marks or tears.

Drivetrain
A 302 Small Block Ford V8 is topped with a performance air cleaner in chrome and backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission.

Undercarriage
Virtually no rust is seen anywhere excepting exhaust pipes which show surface rust. Otherwise very clean and correct.

When it comes to maximizing the amount of car your money buys, you simply can't go wrong with this fully sorted cruiser. And, thanks to its thorough restoration, this all-steel Ford is a great driving piece that's fun, historic AND reliable.
