1987 Buick Regal Grand National

1987 Buick Regal Grand National

Capitalizing on the success of winning NASCAR's 1981 and '82 Manufacturer's Cups, Buick kicked off the Grand National legacy by introducing a specially tweaked version of their 1982 Regal. However, it wasn't long until GM's conservative luxury crew assumed the full identity of renegade performance division by slathering black paint over highly modified G-Bodies that featured unique and menacing aesthetics. This coupe features sinister GM code 19U Black that highlights original sheetmetal. And that paint plays well with the number one 'must have' for '80s GM classics: factory T-Tops.

Anthony Wayne Buick Company, in Wayne, Pennsylvania took the original delivery, and this car has been in the area ever since. With original window sticker, and receipts of engine work done, and various other documentation, a history is available.

Exterior
Menacing black in fair condition, showing some dulling, cracking and chipping. Chrome and bright work are in good condition, and original. Standard 15” wheels are on all 4 corners.

Interior
Light gray cloth inside of black cloth bolsters is seen on the front buckets. A tear in the driver's seat noted, as well as some wear on the bolsters. Rear bench matches with the Light Gray inside black. Power antenna, power windows, power steering, power brakes, power seat, air conditioning, and toggle-controlled mirror are options installed. Aftermarket water and oil gauges are seen on the driver's side A pillar. An AM/FM cassette with a concert sound speaker system

Drivetrain
A 3.8 Liter Turbocharged V6 with an inter cooler is attached to an automatic overdrive transmission. A limited slip differential is shown on the window sticker, as well as power front disc brakes. Documentation of engine work is in the file with other aforementioned extras, but consigner states that only 10K miles have been put on since the rebuild.

This menacing black “t” top presents in overall fair condition. It runs well but is certainly not perfect. But if you are in the market for a reasonably priced Grand National, and need some inter cooled turbo acceleration, this is a great place to start.
