1967 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster

1967 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster

Stingrays are commonly found in the shallow coastal waters of temperate seas. They spend the majority of their time inactive, partially buried in sand, often moving only with the sway of the tide. When they are inclined to move, most stingrays swim by undulating their bodies like a wave; others flap their sides like wings. The tail may also be used to maneuver in the water, but its primary purpose is protection. When swimming under duress, they can propel themselves incredibly fast and nimble through the water.

Here we see a 1967 Corvette with the “stinger hood”. Born as a standard Corvette with a matching number 327ci engine and standard hood, consigner decided to ramp it up a bit, and make some power modifications. For the purist, any parts replaced were retained so if you desire, you can go back to its factory setup. This includes the engine, original brakes, hood, and shifter.

Exterior
Deep black painstakingly applied shows beautifully. A tan accenting was applied over on the hood and adds nice contrast on the stinger style hood and scoop. Wonderful to the ear and eyes, the factory side pipes, are present. A new black convertible top has been put on and works flawlessly. Split bumpers fore and aft are spotless as well.

Interior
Described as gold, a better analogy would be “pumpkin pie” colored interior. Leather buckets, and dash covering, as well as center console armrest are virtually spotless. The standard Corvette “2 hump dash” houses the instrument cluster on the driver's side, and the arched door glovebox on the passenger side. A vertical divider running from the console to the dash, houses the sideways AM radio, and a WORKING CLOCK (a rarity with any car) is seen ticking away. Flooding the floor and back storage compartment is beautiful loop pile carpeting, with no marks or fades.

Drivetrain
A 355ci Roller Motor replaces the original 327 and utilizes the hood scoop to accommodate its extra height of the hi rise intake. A 4-speed transmission sits Inside a Lakewood blow proof bell housing, is a 10.5” Centerforce clutch, and a 30lb Hayes flywheel. This puts power to the rear via a Richmond 3.70:1 positrac rear. Wildwood brakes replace the originals (also retained) and a Hurst Competition + shifter is seen.

A beautifully redone example with a gorgeous spotless exterior and interior. Sitting in this car brings you back to the showroom in 1967, and you can almost smell the original leather. Cranking the 355 over and pushing the throttle to the floor will have you smelling rubber.
