2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
The Alfa Romeo 8C was initially shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept car highlighting the Italian manufacturer's styling and performance capabilities. In 1996 Alfa Romeo announced the production of 500 units for worldwide distribution. Produced with a full carbon fiber body fitted to a steel chassis, the assembly of the car was performed at the Maserati Factory in Modena.
Using a Ferrari derived dry sump V8, the engine produces 444 HP at 7000 peak RPM with 347 foot pounds of torque. The six speed computerized transaxle is computerized and utilizes the steering column paddle shifters. A computer provides for 5 different driving modes. Brakes are Brembo carbon-ceramic units capable of stopping the 190 mph super car in just over 105 feet from 60 mph. The 8C also featured aluminum fluid molded wheels shaped in the familiar Alfa clover leaf racing logo.
The American allotment of 8C's was a total of 90 cars. The entire production was sold out prior to manufacture, even fewer in the Competition Red paint color.
Featured for sale may well be the lowest mileage Competition Red Alfa 8C in existence. 600 Actual Miles With most if not all options available from Alfa, the cost was well over the $300,000 base price. The rarest of rare opportunity to own a historical Italian supercar that is “as new.”
