2008 Ford Mustang GT500 Convertible

If you talk to a car enthusiast about the Ford Mustang, you'll get a few nods of appreciation. When you talk to anyone about the Shelby Mustang, you're going to see some jaws drop and maybe even hear some low whistles.  The Mustang is an American icon.  Shelby is an American legend.  The Shelby isn't a car people dream about owning — it's a car people dream about seeing in person.

For consignment and your visual, auditory, and seat of your pants enjoyment, a 2008 Mustang Shelby GT500 in droptop form built to mimic the Super Snake.  So named because you can expect the output of the engine to be 500hp, but that was when this Vapor Silver and black striped snake was stock.  It's far from stock now with a myriad of tasteful bolt ons and a tune that ups the ante from a tire shredding 500hp to an earth rotating 768hp at the tires.  This was a one owner, garage kept, weekend driver, now it's time to pass along this 1 of 223 Vapor Silver venomous snake to a new home to be fully enjoyed.

Exterior
A proven but not abused 36,763 original verified miles, renders this 14 year old muscle car in near showroom condition.  Dipped, (not literally), in Vapor Silver clearcoat, then slapped, (not literally), on some unique GT500 badging, black decal stripes from the lower front bumper over the hood to the rear deck spoiler, and you are looking racy.  This legendary car has a drop top in black cloth, and it moves up and down flawlessly via a switch.  The body panels are razor straight and have very consistent gaps.  Up front is the air extractor aluminum hood, body integrated headlights, and fog lamps, all of which are highlighted by the Shelby specific semi oval snake badged grille.  Quad 18-inch blacked out aluminum wheels, and black GT 500 rocker stripes that stretch between them on both sides frame the lower sections of this modern muscle machine, now you are in Shelby heaven...I'm snake bitten!

Interior
A swing open of the doors will reveal a pair of sport buckets in black leather and black tuck and roll inserts.  Some power movement seat options mixed with manual options, and you'll get it “just right” baby bear.  Look in the back and you'll note 2 extra seats in the 2 plus 2 formats, in other words 2 more butt grabbers for the audience that will witness the speed show.  A basket style light bar has been installed which gives a great look with the top down.  “Round” would be the theme on the dash with round gauges called “light-toned” and including a boost gauge AKA the ass kicker gauge and wideband on the A-pillar and a Shelby pod atop the dash with more white face gauges.  Air-conditioning emanating of course from round ball style vents and a Shaker 1000 Audio system with AM/FM/CDx6 and MP3 Capabilities.  Drop the top, crank the tunes, and hit the loud pedal…now you are shakkin!

Drivetrain
Under the heat extractor hood and between the shock towers lies a 5.4 Liter DOHC 4V supercharged V8 with fuel injection for the fossil burning.  A mere 500hp wasn't enough for our consignor, so the wick was turned up just a bit with a cold air intake, performance camshafts, and a Kenne Bell supercharger which now produces a dyno proven 768.5 tire shredding ponies, or should I say snakes.  All this power blows back the power to a 6-speed TR6060 manual tranny and Ford 8.8 inch 3.31 TracLok axle.  The fuel system has now been upgraded for the boost in ponies and now you are rollin!

Undercarriage
Showroom condition visually and structurally with a lowering kit installed for the independent coil spring front suspension and 3 link with panhard bar and coil spring rear suspension.  Brembo high performance power disc brakes are on the front and standard Shelby discs are on rear, and full-on ABS and traction control for when you feel a little goosey with the boost in the wet.  A dual exhaust system with a Borla cat-back muffler set up is on for your auditory pleasure and we note a 1-piece aluminum driveshaft.  Now you're thinkkin…

Drive-Ability
An overall great experience that will put a smile on your face, and a crease in the butt of your pants (and hopefully that's all) with great acceleration and handling.  This car shifts smoothly, and runs just fine..YOWZA!
