1934 Chevrolet Standard 2 Door Sedan

1934 Chevrolet 2-Door Sedan

In the hot-rodding world, sometimes there is the school of thought that the more flames that adorn the car, the better. Makes it look faster! Key word here is look…then there is the other school of thought that a sleek, shaved, chopped, simplified body, made from fiberglass, with a powerful mill, a slick transmission, and an overall custom build and flames? This build will have the flamers seeing red... watching the taillights as they disappear in their front windshield, after the arm drops.

Just glancing at cars in the halls of Classic Auto Mall, one can spot the good, bad and the ugly right away, and you do not need much of a trained eye. This one, using nothing but the best, is definitely a good category build and can be shown or used as a daily driver, it's that well done. Let's just say that amongst all the Hot Rods here, this one is definitely a stand out and definitely worth a look if you are not into the build part of the game.

Exterior
An Outlaw performance '34 Chevy Tudor body with a 3” chop, smoked glass, deep dark black cherry paint, and a touch of custom in the form of purple, burgundy, blue, red and various inbetween hues highlighting for the chameleon painted flames that begin at the rounded front fenders and radiator shell and run back the hood, fenders and body sides. These flames even have been added to the roof and the whole package looks just fab! Fiberglass has its advantages, mainly the panels are straight as arrows, gaps are nearly perfect, and look ma… NO RUST EVER! A bright billet trim spear highlights the base of the hood with its side cowling removed to show off the serious mill lurking beneath. Fronting this hood is a stainless grille with the flamed corral and custom chrome headlight mounts adorn the grille and fender niche, and the body and fenders are bobbed at the rear. The body has been stripped of all of its chrome, including the bumpers and door handles, (strictly remote with an emergency entry here kids). 17 and 18” Billet Specialties wheels are adding some snazz on each corner and are shod in staggered width rubber

Interior
Remotely pop open the doors and immediately you are overwhelmed with a build quality that is second to none. Light beige door panels, highlighted by dark brown inserts, are fitted with billet aluminum door releases as well as angled almost 3 dimensional leather panels. This color scheme repeats itself on the overstuffed bucket and bench seats both front and rear, all presenting with minimal to no wear on the clean beige leather seating surfaces with dark brown piping. Breathe in the heat and A/C controllers along with the ignition, wiper, and power window switches all residing within the crisp and clean beige padded dash. Centrally located antique white face AutoMeter gauges, all with their gold bezels keep the operator apprised of all the vitals and are fronted by a wood rimmed billet angel wing type steering wheel which tops a black cherry tilt steering column. An AM/FM/CD player rests comfortably overhead in a small console and can belt out several watts of your favs on the playlist.

Drivetrain
Peeking through the open sides of the engine bay we see a blinged out 350ci V8 topped with a 4bbl carburetor. Polished billet aluminum bolt ons are strewn as far as the eye can see and what isn't billet is highly polished chrome. A Currie 9" rear axle handles all the power sent from the engine via a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission.

Undercarriage
Attracting all the attention underneath is the strong silver steel frame and all polished attachments, again, the best of the best here folks. A boxed steel frame provides the backbone for the body, running boards and suspension, all pro built and looking just fab. An independent Mustang II style front suspension is on with adjustable coil overs and tubular A-arms. Bringing up the rear is a lightly polished 4 link suspension with more adjustable coil overs. The headers feed down to a straight piped muffler delete exhaust system and we see Baer power disc brakes front and rear providing the stop on a dime and give change factor.

Drive-Ability
A pop of the door and a twist of the knob and I'm in street rod heaven. The V8 has a great rumble but not so much as to drown out my favorite tunes. My test drive was on a perfect summer Pennsylvania day so I could go windows down, but have no fear, the A/C blows ice cold. Taking a tour around the often imitated but never duplicated Classic Auto Mall test track I looked cool as a cucumber and my ears had a perfect mixture of exhaust notes along with tunes on the radio. Power was more than adequate, shifting smooth, and braking was exceptional and bias free. One issue with most street rods is lack of interior room and comfort, this car has that problem solved and then some.

Very impressive, and a build you could not replicate for the price of this gorgeous, high performance, great handling, convenience loaded vintage looker. All wrapped up in fiberglass, deep dark black cherry and chameleon flames...a must see in person to really appreciate this standout. The photos do not do it justice, frankly because I'm not in them, so come visit our Hallowed Halls and see this rod in person. You won't be disappointed with this ready to drive cross-country high-end build.
