2005 Bear Trailer

2005 Bear Trailer

Here are some things to consider when purchasing a new trailer and commonly overlooked: Is the frame C-Channel or tube “box” frame? Bear Trailersports always use a tube frame. By doing so, it gives the frame added strength and helps protect wiring and brake lines from the harsh elements. Is the frame wall thickness 1/8” or 3/16”? Bear Trailersports always use 3/16” wall thickness; thicker walls means longer lasting product. Are the axles Torsion or leaf spring suspensions? Bear uses Torsion axles on most of our custom trailers unless specified by the customer. Some of the benefits to torsion axles are: no leaf springs, works independently from other axles and offers a premium ride. Are the trailers painted or powder coated? Almost all of our trailers are primed and powder coated for the ultimate protection. Now that's a serious trailer!

Open car haulers are the most basic of transport styles for your ride. They're lightweight and efficient but do lack the added protection that an enclosed trailer offers. For consignment, a 2005 Bear Trailersports open deck steel trailer. Ready to haul your racer or classic and still look good after miles of service. Strap down your ride, pack your gear and let's head to the left coast for the Pomona Grand National Roadster Show.

Exterior
Twin steel diamond plated deck runners are flanking an open center with exposed axles and cross members. All this steel is finished in a black texture application, similar to that of a spray in truck bed liner. Highly polished chrome fenders highlight the sea of black and cover the twin rear wheels giving a classy look to a normally utilitarian piece of equipment. Up front, a tire rack with a steel mesh floor provides room for spare wheels as well as room for some extra cargo or parts. While the black finish is slightly faded, all is structurally sound. Rounding out our tour is an added receiver hitch, possible to accommodate a winch and the V-nosed

Undercarriage
Twin torsion axles provide the 4000lb load limit for this unit and are adorned at the ends by white painted drilled wheels which are shod in ST205/75R15 rubber. Electric brakes are also on to help with the slowing, and we note both of the brake assemblies on the front axle have recently been replaced. No rust or corrosion is noted, and all appears ready to handle the next load.

Whether you plan on hauling your racecar, off roader or show car, this trailer with its over constructed design is the one you want. A slip resistant finish on the decking and some obvious recent repairs make this utility unit a perfect example for someone looking to get started hauling their own and stop borrowing their buddy's trailer.
