Dr. Enuf is a brand of soft drink bottled by Tri-City Beverage in Johnson City, Tennessee. Dr. Enuf's origins date back to 1949, when a Chicago businessman named William Mark Swartz was urged by coworkers to formulate a soft drink fortified with vitamins as an alternative to sugar sodas full of empty calories. He developed an "energy booster" drink containing B vitamins, caffeine and cane sugar. After placing a notice in a trade magazine seeking a bottler, he formed a partnership with Charles Gordon of Tri-City Beverage to produce and distribute the soda. Early in its development, Dr. Enuf was reported to have several therapeutic effects, including the easing of stomach pains, relief from hangovers and a clearing of the mind. One interesting note is that one of the early advertised uses of Dr. Enuf, curing hangovers, coincided with Tri-City Beverage's other soft drink at the time, a drink mixer called Mountain Dew. Tri-City Beverage later sold the rights to Mountain Dew to Pepsi but kept the Dr. Enuf brand. The drink is still produced to this day by Tri-Cities Beverage. Dr. Enuf is available in original, Diet, Herbal and Diet Herbal varieties. A bottle of any of the varieties contains at least 80% of the recommended daily nutritional requirement of Vitamin B1, Vitamin B3, potassium and iodine.

Most trucks of the vintage era were used hard and ran to the end of their life. When one comes up fully restored, with a good body, plus set up to deliver and show it's a true rarity. Here for your viewing and working pleasure we give you a 1951 Chevrolet 4400 Series 1 1/2 ton truck, fully functional and ready to work, show, or promote your business. It is unknown if this truck's former life included hauling the rich in vitamin treat it now advertises, but what we do know is our consignor purchased it with the intent of creating a pizza truck. That plan never came to fruition and the truck is now gracing our Hallowed Halls.

Exterior
All business here, the body slathered in dark green and white hues that shows some chip marks and touch ups but nothing remarkable. Pontoon style fenders in dark green lead back to a white long flowing hood which is broken up by simple trim spear and Chevrolet emblems. Round marker lights ride atop the fenders and are above the headlights with their chrome trim rings that flank the chrome bar and green painted grill assembly. Black steel running boards flow from behind the fenders and give easy entry to the passenger compartment. Speaking of the cab, the doors are emblazoned with the Dr. Enuf logo and just below the glass is a wraparound body line in fender matching dark green. A split dual pane windshield leads up to a green steel sunvisor then to the slightly bulged roof. A full oak-built delivery box sits on the back of the truck with multiple storage compartments and "Get that wonderful feelin" written across the top in your grandmother's script. Finishing off the back is a full Dr Enuf script and energized silhouette logo surrounded with reflectors and taillights below. Large black mud flaps protect the drivers behind you from flying rocks and debris kicked up by the dual rear 7.50-20 tires mounted on red steel wheels.

Interior
Swinging open the all steel door we are greeted with utilitarianism on the inside of doors. Champagne colored steel panels make up the lower 2/3rd of the doors and up top is a simple white vinyl panel that houses the window crank and door release handle. A saddle colored leather bench seat stretches from door to door and can accommodate 3 passengers with ease. A black steering wheel fronts the very basic dash that is made up of two chrome ringed circles, one containing vital engine monitoring gauges and the other a speedometer. The rest of the dash is made up of ribbed panels that would have housed a radio speaker, (radio delete here folks), and a glovebox. All this sits within a champagne full metal jacket steel dash. A black vinyl floor covering is down below and displays in lightly used condition with the gear shifter and parking brake levels protruding.

Drivetrain
Under the massive hood lies the heart of the truck. A well restored but great running 216.5ci inline 6-cylinder mill topped by a 1-bbl carb making 92hp lies within, backed up by a 4-speed manual transmission. A heavy-duty rear axle assembly is on the back and ready for whatever you can throw at it or in the truck for that matter.

Undercarriage
While too massive to fit on our lift we do note 4-wheel manual drum brakes, single exhaust to expel spent fossils, and heavy-duty leaf spring suspension all around. Other than the usual surface rust there is no invasive cancer to note, some leaks are present but nothing to be alarmed about. She's ready to deliver boys!!!

Drive-Ability
The truck fired to life and performed well on our test track here at the Classic Auto Mall. I almost felt like a big rig driver behind the wheel and this drive was more my speed versus driving a circa 1978 White Freightliner, truck driving school was over... I thoroughly enjoyed myself on the drive as the truck has adequate acceleration, respectable bias free braking and was surprisingly easy to drive. All functions were operating during my drive. Thanks to my partner in crime and all around good guy I was lucky enough during my drive to sip a Herbal Cherry Dr. Enuf that he picked up on Amazon. I'm living the dream kids!!!

A worker, show-er, goer, or a great promotional piece for your business, the choice is yours! Great style and performance for a big truck that we're proud to have in our hallowed halls. Come visit the Classic Auto Mall and find your own personal throwback. Maybe even fancy yourself hauling some amazing vitamin tonic.
