If you understand the difference between a 2dr sedan and a 2dr hardtop, (hardtop has no post), then a Nomad is a 2dr hardtop wagon, thus it has no posts on the doors. The Nomad is ONLY in the Bel Air series, (no such thing as 210 or 150 Nomad).
For consignment, a 1955 Chevrolet 150 Station Wagon, often mistaken for a Handyman. This car would make any handy man proud and also make them look very successful, as it has undergone a full restoration. As consigner states you could literally drive this shower across the country with little to no problems except for running out of space from the trophies you'll receive when you enter shows on your way.
All bathed in black with no noticeable faults within its deep paint which bathes all of the body and head and tail. The long metal top is white, and chrome on this car is spectacular to say the least. From the jet age hood ornament to the searchlights, mirrors, window trimmings, bumpers and chromed egg crate grille its show car quality. On either side we see a fab trim spear that runs from just behind the headlights to the middle of the pillar less doors. A beauty of a rocker covering begins halfway up the back of the front wheel wells and plunges to the rockers where it continues on to the rear wheel well. The front bumper has an additional bumper guard bar running across the top of it, and on back triangular tail lighting wraps around the ever so slight hint of a tail fin. 17-inch polished Billet Specialties wheels with knockoff styled hubs in their centers are wrapped with some low profile rubber on all 4 corners. The neat thing about this exterior is the tasteful use of chrome with the black, it's not too little and not too much. Just right baby bear.
A swing of either door and I'll be seeing you in all the familiar places with custom red vinyl door panels and sculpted contemporary looking arm rests with uber shiny cranks and handles. Inside immediately your eye races to the dash where the only 1955 dual fan dash exists on black painted metal top glory. Chromed bezels, knobs pulls and steering column gleam for your attention, and you just cannot put it down. A polished aluminum band runs through the dash center and sports a punched pattern of bowtie logos. Below we note Vintage Air and a few aftermarket gauges hanging below. The center has a vintage looking digital radio, and in front of the passenger is the second fan bump up within the dash, this one housing the Chevrolet badge written grandmother's handwriting. In lieu of the clock a round badge with yet another bowtie is cut out of the middle. Below is red carpeting that is beautiful enough to have the stars walk on their way into the Oscar theater. 2 like new benches offer up the seating, the front being a split back so rear seated passengers can access the second bench. In the back cargo area is miles of pristine red carpeting and red smooth vinyl covering the sides. This holds true for the interior of the gate, which is also red vinyl, but has yet another large bowtie logo inserted in the middle of it. So, if it's a handy man I question whether a successful painter/paperhanger would be happy with this car for very obvious reasons! A white headliner is above and presents with many panels and all clean.
Within the black fully restored engine bay is a red block painted and otherwise gleaming 350ci V8. It is topped with a 4-barrel carburetor, and on the back is strapped a 700R4 4-speed automatic tranny. 3.36 is the rear axle ratio. All bolt ons and other mechanicals are polished for corrosion free showroom condition.
Frame and floor pans as well as spare tire housing, suspension and rockers are all fully restored and painted with nice black rustproofing. For the front, tubular A arms are now on with coil overs and on back leaf springs supported by blue colored shock absorbers. A Turbo muffler system is on in duals and these take the handoff from the headers now on the block. Noted power slotted and drilled disc brakes are now giving the car a woah factor on steroids.
A super quick starter, nice sound, great power, even nicer acceleration and handling, and stops on a dime. All in the comfort of near perfect interior seating and all functioning interior controls, all floating in perfectly preserved red carpeting.
We get some fabulous cars in every shape and style, but this one is really one of the nicest 150 wagons I've had the pleasure to have laid my eyes on. A wonderful restoration that ticks like a swiss watch, and looks like a Rolex.
