1967 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe

1967 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe

It's understandable why people get all excited about survivor cars with a numbers-matching engine and transmission, factory, paint, etc. That's obviously not what this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is all about, because this is a bold resto-mod. It's rocking a modern powertrain, interior electronics, and a seriously worked-over appearance that makes this '67 muscle car a standout on the road.

For consignment, a super duper super sport 1967 Camaro which has been worked over with new panels, a super stunner of a power plant, and in restomod heart pounding eye-catching beautiful condition eat 'em up form.

Exterior
The newer versions of the Camaro are nice and all with their neoprene bumpers etc etc etc, however there is something about the simplicity of design with these earlier Camaro models. A thin grille, nice small bumper with actual chrome on it just below, and the hidden headlights which are just not seen on cars of today. This car has all new steel panels which are laser straight, minding their gaps to a T, and bathed in gray paint. Some black accenting stripes run on the hood and rear trunk deck and have sporty red pin striping between the border of the black and the gray body paint. Noted on the body, solvent pop is dimpling the gray and affects each panel in varying degrees of severity. More SS badging for the rear along with the simple horizontal taillights and another small bumper below. 17-inch Ridler 5 spoke wheels wrapped with low profile 215/40ZR17's in front, and larger 255/50ZR17's on back. Super looks, super stunning.

Interior
A swing of the doors and we shake hands with a beautifully molded plastic door panel which takes on a more modern look from the original. The door actuator is molded into the armrest, and a window crank is seen on this door too. Below is a strip of black carpeting. Black carpeting continues in the cabin and is all nice and clean, and floating on this are newly covered low back buckets in black vinyl with some white accenting stripes between the blaster and the inserts. A molded in headrest is noted in these chairs, and in back a bench in matching pattern and material stretches from B pillar to B pillar. Racing up the center is a V shaped console, also black with some chromed accenting for the edges. Within this console is a Hurst shifter, and just prior to the rise upward a trio of aftermarket gauges is installed. The several raked inward to the bottom dash sports some deep set round speedo and tach gauges, along with some knobs and pulls. This car does not have the radio, but the mounting holes are there for it. Fronting the dash is a wood rimmed rally steering wheel. Above is a black tight headliner looking over this super sexy shiny interior.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a shiny rebuilt 350ci V8 with aluminum heads and a Holley 780cfm 4-barrel carb atop to feed the mill its much needed fossils and air. On the back is a rebuilt Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and a 12 bolt rear axle. Our consigner states the engine produces 450hp. Nice headers and chromed bowtie badge valve covers are going along for the ride, as is a chromed air cleaner cover.

Undercarriage
Fully restored with some new suspension on the form of independent coil spring suspension, and leaf springs with traction bars on back. Power disc brakes show through nicely between the spokes of the Ridlers, and a stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust takes the handoff from the headers on the engine.

Drive-Ability
She fired right up with a super sound, and off at the test track all performance was tip top. Great handling and traction from the newly installed track bars. Note the heater is not hooked up.

A super body on this resto-mod, with some snazzy contrasting black stripes and the low profile tires, rebuilt souped up engine and transmission, and snazzy interior, Toto I don't think we are quite in 1967 anymore. Super!
