2004 Ford Thunderbird Roadster
The 2004 Thunderbird has the same long-hood/short-rear-deck styling theme of the 1950's two-seat models. It also has a similar egg crate-style grille, hood scoop, simulated air vents and 1950s-style T-Bird portholes for the removable $2,500 hard top. Like the original, the 2004 Thunderbird has a front-engine, rear-drive layout.
The 1950s two-seat T-Bird was heavy, and so is the 2004 model at nearly 3,800 pounds. However, the 280hp V8 and responsive five-speed automatic transmission work to whisk the car to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, and there's strong acceleration for merging and passing.
This 2004 Thunderbird is breath taking with it's Monterey Mist green paint and contrasting Ash metallic hard top, and then you look inside to see the Ash two-tone leather trimmed seats with “preferred” suede inserts. This T-bird is #579 of 1000 Pacific Coast Roadster's built. It also features special plastic covers in the engine bay. Powered by the 3.9 Liter V8 with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Options and features include the hard and soft top, hard top stand, tonneau cover, heated seats, 4-wheel disc brakes, alarm, power windows, power door locks, power steering, power brakes, fog lamps, rear window defroster and 17-inch 16-spoke micro-machined wheels with Monterey Mist green rings painted around the center caps. When you take the hard top off you also have a matching Ash colored soft top. A new classic sure to become a collector's item in the future.
