1993 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

1993 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

The fourth generation of “America's Sports Car" known casually as the C4, was rolled out for the 1984 model year. Most Corvette fans are well acquainted with the C4 cars, as they represent one of the biggest technological leaps forward in the car's long history. After the $31,683 ZR1 Special Performance Package, the most expensive 1993 Corvette option was the Z07 Adjustable Suspension Package. Only had $50 to spare? Try the G92 3.15 axle for a little extra squirt off the line.

For consignment a 1993 Corvette complete with an LT1 350ci V8, a removable top that is smoked glass and bathed in Polo II Green Metallic. Looking a bit worn in spots, on the exterior and interior, it is mechanically sound overall.

Exterior
Our example is bathed in Polo II Green Metallic paint which shows some fading and small faults throughout. Upfront on the lower neoprene bumper some run ins with a curb can be seen with small gouges and scratches in the bumper. Just behind the front wheel well in the dual Corvette cove are some deep scratches and a crack. Cleaner less curved boxier lines dominate the exterior and are even utilized on the rectangular chromed exhaust tips. For the top, it is removable, and is smoked glass, and shows some clouding and crazing beginning. On back is the greenhouse curved glass. The rear deck and roll pan is also bathed in green and is housing the iconic round taillights. Polished and natural finish aluminum turbine style wheels are noted on all 4 corners.

Interior
Light beige leather covers the racing style buckets with high backs, extra bolster padding, and headrests which are embroidered and integrated right into the seats. These seats are power seats. Some wear can be seen on the driver's outside bolster where the leather has worn through. Racing between the buckets toward the dash is the center console, which houses a glovebox, seat controls, and the automatic shifter. Swooping skyward and curving toward the driver's side to roll upward and form the instrument cluster. Digital gauges provided the center of the dash cluster and are flanked by analog gauges are noted. There is an information center in the middle of the dash, however it is only a cluster of warning lights and not a full screen, (give it time they were working on it!). Tan carpeting which is clean can be seen throughout and in back for the storage area it could use a fresh re-stretching.

Drivetrain
The correct 350ci LT1 V8 is nicely preserved within the engine bay and presents very clean, no corrosion, and regularly shined plastic parts. This engine is fed by electronic fuel injection and has a ZF 6-speed manual transmission on the back. A 3.45 rear axle completes the drivetrain package.

Undercarriage
Underneath all clean with no rust surface or otherwise. Good suspension (C4 all around) which is forged aluminum and lightweight for front and rear suspension. Power disc brakes to stop these 17-inch forged wheels all around.

Drive-Ability
A good driver, good handling, and decently preserved interior, which is original to this car. All interior mechanicals worked including A/C, and power steering makes this car a breeze to drive, and so does putting the manual convertible top down (a joy on a warm spring day!). Noted is a noisy throwout bearing, the car is difficult to get into reverse, and there are no reverse lights illuminating when you get it there.

An 80K mile Corvette, with fair paint and top, and clean but worn interior in leather. Forged aluminum suspension and the 350ci V8 combine to give you a thrill when behind this wheel.
