1924 Ford Model T Pickup Golf Cart

1924 Model T Pickup Golf Cart

While hopping into a car and driving countless miles might seem relatively unspectacular these days, there was a time when the mere thought of traveling by an automobile seemed like a fairy tale. That all changed when Henry Ford introduced the Model T in 1908. A true revolution, the affordability and efficiency of the vehicle gave millions of Americans access to the open road for the first time. Although the Model T is forever etched into the fabric of the country, you still might not know what made it such a phenomenon.

As we say here at Classic Auto Mall you never know what is coming through the door on any given day. This consignment is no exception, as I give you a 1924 Ford Model T pickup replica mounted on an electric golf cart chassis. Attention to detail makes this a really unique golf cart, and if you want to be the envy of the links or the star stand out of the gated community then you should take a closer look at this very unique build…follow me, I'll take you through it!

Exterior
Much like Henry's creation of the original this cart has amazing attention to detail. From its brass radiator surround, metal cowled hood bathed in green and pinstriped on all edges, metal fabricated fenders and running boards and brass exterior lighting it is a sight to behold. This is without even touching on the custom woodwork that makes up the totally wood construction rectangular cab, and matching paneled bed. It's all stained maple and is solid construction just like the big brother originals. Very special wheels have been fabricated to make them look like the thin bias ply tires of yore, right down to the wood spokes, metal dish wheels and brass hubs. It's electric!

Interior
A step on to the running boards covered in rubber allows us to float behind the steering wheel which looks right out of 1924. It has a spark advance lever and a hand throttle (not actually, just for show). A small wood instrument panel has a few knobs and the key. In back of this neat dash is a green vinyl bench stretching from wooden side to wooden side in near perfect condition. A rubber floor is noted to protect those spikes.

Drivetrain
From circa 2005 and courtesy of Advanced DC Motors, Inc. a 36-volt electric motor which is neatly tucked under the bed is securely mounted. This drives the rear wheels which have leaf sprung suspension. The front of the cart also has leaf spring suspension to carry you seamlessly through the divots.

Undercarriage
All strong structural framework in steel, no rust, and all hidden by the wood upper body construction. There are actually shock absorbers on too so the ride is going to be as smooth as a putting green.

Drive-Ability
A totally fun ride, all working and constantly turning heads. Has nice torque from the 36 volt motor and stops on a dime. All comfy seating and very clean overall.

Imagine the standout in the community or on the links this cart would create. Attention to detail, and the look of an actual 1924 Ford pickup…Mind of I play through?? FORE!!! Ahhhhhhooga…
