1971 Ford F250 Pickup

1971 Ford F250 Pickup

The Ford Motor Company, with its F-series, has long held the distinction of building the best-selling trucks in America. That distinction dates back many decades, as Ford's commercial Model A and AA variants were also the most popular in their day. The best-selling Ford truck of 1931 was the Closed Cab Pick-up, which brought passenger-car style and some new features to the market.

For consignment, the pickup that works like a truck and rides like a car, this 1971 F250 has undergone a complete restoration with the consigner stating everything is either new or rebuilt. A look around this truck definitely plays that part at it is a star on our Classic Auto Mall Stage in the north hallway. Ladies and gentlemen…hold your applause until all details are revealed! Dim the lights and cue the orchestra, the show is about to begin!

Exterior
One…singular sensation…is what best describes the buttoned up exterior of this truck. All steel panels have been brought back to their factory specifications with well minded gaps and all draped in red respray. For the paint we are swimmin' in the deep end of the pool. Browsing over the remainder of the exterior, we see plenty of straight rust free and dimple free chrome, all perfect badging, grille, correct trim spears, rocker trimmings and large chrome mirrors hanging off of each door. All is very well on the back gate with all original and completely restored trimmings and badging. Lowering the gate, and we see completely lined with spray liner bed and sides, in black. No stones were left unturned for this restoration and that includes new rubber window and door stripping. 16 inch painted white wheels are topped with standard near perfect Ford hubcaps and wrapped in Firestone Transforge RT rubber. ..And the Orchestra plays us through the Interior…..

Interior
“All the world is a stage, and all the men and women are merely players”. An integral part of this truck's appeal is the interior. It is a bit of a twist added though, with bucket seats from the factory that are looking like they just came from the factory! These are matchy matchy with the door panels with their tuck and roll inserts (like the door panels) in black (like the door panels) with the door panels showing some surrounding red on the sills. This red continues through the metal dash front where panels of ultra shiny gauges and surrounds make up the dash. Shades of the Mustangs of yore on the instrumentation, with a long oval and centrally located spear dissecting it into two distinct parts with the speedo above and odo. Below are a quadrant of rectangular gauges to include temp, oil, fuel, and amps. Clean black carpeting covers the floors, and a black padded dash top is sans any cracks or fading. Our headliner is vented white vinyl with a chromed surrounding trimming. Cut! Set Change to Powertrain, all clear on the soundstage.

Drivetrain
Under the hood the amazing work continues with a showroom presenting correct 360ci V8 all painted blue. Blue heads, blue valve covers, blue block, and blue air cleaner cover, as I said, all painted blue! This mill is topped by a 2-barrel carburetor, and a 4-speed manual transmission with first gear being a creeper gear. On back is a Dana 60 rear.

Undercarriage
As expected, total rust free steel with red painted floorpans, and shiny black supporting beams and panels too. A radius arm and coil spring suspension is up front, and on back is a leaf spring suspension. Power drums are on all 4 corners and a shiny like new exhaust and muffler is seen underneath. No road dirt either to speak of so this truck is a shower. A Star if you will!

Drive-Ability
Slipping inside the buckets …yes (BUCKETS!) this truck fires right up and is ready to go. And go it does with easy shifting, smooth clutch, nice acceleration, and all working controls and readouts. What else could you ask for??

Excellent job I'd say for this example of the F250 extra tonnage pickup truck. Fully restored, meticulous job at the attention to detail, and now a shower and a hauler for the business who wants to attract some classic attention. Show up to your job site and talk to a customer from this beauty! It's all over but the crying, curtain call for a bow please!! A P P L A U S E …
