1997 Ford F250 Pickup

1997 Ford F250 Pickup

Diesel engines work by compressing only the air. This increases the air temperature inside the cylinder to such a high degree that atomized diesel fuel injected into the combustion chamber ignites spontaneously. With the fuel being injected into the air just before combustion, the dispersion of the fuel is uneven; this is called a heterogeneous air-fuel mixture. The torque a diesel engine produces is controlled by manipulating the air-fuel ratio instead of throttling the intake air, the diesel engine relies on altering the amount of fuel that is injected, and the air-fuel ratio is usually high.

For consignment a high energy, high degree of restored, high gloss, high power Ford F250 HD Pickup. This truck has been freshly painted, new factory transmission (with remaining warranty), replaced ball joints, shocks, and mounts, new brake lines LED head lights, and many more plusses to make this truck like new right from 1997! Call it back to the future, classic is the new…new!

Exterior
With consigner stated “NO BONDO ANYWHERE” this truck has had some panels replaced recently, particularly new bed sides, then it was bathed in a high gloss red paint. The photos will show the beauty of this truck, which has steel panels that are straight as arrows, and gaps which are meticulously minded. This version is a 2-door crew cab, with full bed, so there is a LOT of truck to tool around in, haul the goods, and 4 wheel it anywhere. Badging and chrome is excellent with no rust, dimpling or fading, and a nice two tone rocker stripe in contrasting gray runs the gamut of the bottom of this truck. LED headlights, new cap lights a sunshade in full metal jacket is above the windshield, and window seals and trimmings in black are near perfect. A sliding airflow rear window is installed and nicely chromed drilled wheels with manual locks are wrapped in large brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain TA radial “grabbers”. If you want to experience what 1997 factory or showroom looks like, give this truck a look!

Interior
Gray plastic molded door panels house slightly faded door handles (truly the only fault in sight on this truck) and a panel of power buttons for windows locks and mirror adjustments. Inside large cloth buckets come together to give 60/40 seating to allow for a trio to sit comfortably upfront. In back is a bench that stretches from side window to side window and has a surprising amount of room back there. This seat is in gray broadcloth as well, and all seats are just pristine. The dash and instrument cluster are uber clean and mileage is showing at 167,856 barely broken for this diesel monster. An AM/FM/Cassette radio is installed as well as factory air conditioning. Gray carpet that is very clean covers the floors, and a felt headliner is tight above.

Drivetrain
A heave of the massive high hood reveals a nicely preserved and clean 7.3-liter turbocharged V8 diesel HD engine. A new factory Ford transmission has been installed and still is under warranty with 95K remaining. New glow plugs, battery and starter have been put on, and she runs like a diesel top!

Undercarriage
Por 15 undercoating has been slathered on but not before a complete overhaul of the brake lines, trans cooler, 4 WD shift controller, shocks and mounts, a 4 inch (WOW) stainless steel Diamond Eye exhaust, calipers and pads, and a fresh oil change. No rust to be seen structurally sound, and ready for another 165K to breeze easily through.

Drive-Ability
Had to get my rock climbing outfit to get in, but it was worth the climb, as you have a view of the world from an entirely different perspective….one of POWER!! She fired right up and powered through the test track as expected. No blips or miscues, good brakes, good handling, and 4WD worked just fine, although the test track has nothing to climb! All functions were working, and air blows cold.

A diesel engine will typically outlive what it's put into, but this truck defies that logic due to an astute consigner who took the time to breathe new life into this massive pickup. Lots of new parts, panels, and paint, and this beauty is ready to take on another 200K…no problem. The original factory exhaust including the catalytic convertors and factory bedliner will come with the purchase if the new owner would like them. Factory condition from 1997 live and in blazing red color right here at Classic Auto Mall. Don't miss it!!
