1967 Special Construction Race Car

English Language Learners Definition of unique used to say that something or someone is unlike anything or anyone else.: very special or unusual.: belonging to or connected with only one particular thing, place, or person.

As we say here at Classic Auto Mall being in the consignment business you never what is coming through the door next, and I'd have to say this came through and I still am gob smacked as to what it is. We do know it is a hand-built creation, used for street and possibly racing, with a unique look. The consignor did provide some photographs of what this car racing at Maple Grove Raceway may be, (a local drag strip), in the 1960's. Further investigation will be required to have 100% confirmation. Owning this car will most assuredly put you in the category of owning 1 of 1, with certainly plenty of fun.

Exterior
A bare metal aluminum body has been hand hewn and meticulously mounted to a 1-5/8 inch round tubing frame from the firewall forward, and 3 inch square tubing from the firewall rearward. A front spoiler acts as the bumper and fronts a v style fashioned grille which is flanked by 2 rectangular headlights and curved screen in frame front wheel well covers. curved front fenders continue around the 15-inch Weld Prostar wheels and gently curve downward to form the front quarters. This curved form continues from the firewall rearward with a door panel but no actual door. It makes its way rearward and culminated in a nearly pointed rear which houses 1960's Ford taillights (maybe from a Falcon?) The trunk lid doubles as the rear spoiler which can be height adjusted. A full roll bar windshield supports, and exhaust side pipes are in red and add some accent to the aluminum.

Interior
Made for competition not comfort we see a single JAZ Products racing seat custom aluminum dash peppered with various gauges and toggles, and a large round speedometer protruding from the dash top right above the rally style steering wheel. A Quick Silver shifter and some more inner roll cage is present and all within reach of the driver.

Drivetrain
All bare and out there sans hood to cover it, a 350ci V8 which consigner states puts out 400 horses is looking all shiny and neat. Edelbrock provides the Torker intake, and Holley the 4-barrel carburetor. A TH350 with a 2500 stall converter with a modified valve body and clutches puts power rearward to a Dana 3.70 geared rear.

Undercarriage
Nice red painting of undercarriage parts which include a Speedway Mustang II front with tubular upper and lower arms, nice frame and adds a good contrast to the shiny aluminum. Coil-overs in chrome provide the ride for the rear 295/50R15's on the back. Front disc brakes and rear drums are installed.

Drive-Ability
We got her fired up and it will certainly make some noise. The test driver reported the front end was very light and dared not put too much pedal into it for fear of actually lifting up the front end off the ground. Lots of power, and lots of noise.

A one of a kind original hand-built machine that looks like no other…guaranteed.
