1983 Porsche 911 Cabriolet

1983 Porsche 911 Cabriolet

The Porsche 911 is synonymous with the word's “sports car” around the world. With its unmistakable shape and rear-engine layout, it may look unchanged, but it has undergone constant improvement for ever-sharper, race-car-like handling. Since its launch in 1964 as a 1965 model, the 911 has been offered in an often bewildering variety of trims, as well as three distinct body styles: Coupe, Targa, and Cabriolet.

For consignment a 911 Cabriolet that has a body kit attached. Ultra-wide curving racy fenders on the rear, and accommodations for wider tires on front. Add the whale tail spoiler and you have the ultimate Porsche shape. Lots of power and great looks wraps all that German engineering. Let's make some tire smoke.

Exterior
This wonderfully shaped little racer is donning a stealthy black paint in good condition. The body kit adds width to the rear for larger tires. Up front hidden headlights and some venting ports line up on the top of the front quarters. On the rear the large spoiler grows out of the wide fenders and has an organic form, with its function to keep the rear pasted to the tarmac. A black cloth convertible top is like new, and has a clear plastic rear window, and moves up and down with ease. Fiske Forged wheels in 17-inch format shine on all 4 corners.

Interior
A swing of the doors and we see black and light gray door panels in simple square and rectangle design. Power windows are noted. Inside the front buckets in charcoal gray leather are like new. These are perched in front of a roll bar which grows out of a field of light gray carpet, in good condition. A dark gray vinyl padded dash has a smattering of black inserts for temp controls, an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player and instrument cluster with white gauges. There are extra gauges on the A pillar and a MOMO Porsche steering wheel fronts the clean dash. Porsche embroidered black floor mats protect the light gray carpet up front.

Drivetrain
182.6cc to be exact in a flat 6-cylinder format is fed by electronic fuel injection and has a 5-speed manual transmission. This combination produces 180hp.

Undercarriage
An extremely clean environment with no rust, new looking suspension which is independent all around. Engine shines form underneath and is obviously well cared for. Dual exhaust, and 4-wheel disc brakes are all pack up nicely underneath.

Drive-Ability
A very quick starter, easy to access and egress from the passenger compartment particularly when the top is down. This car has nice pickup, and one has to be a little careful as the rear can be a bit snap happy. Handled very well, and with the top down you get to hear the iconic Porsche whine as you go up through the gears. Great experience.

With its small but beautiful compact design including the curvaceous wide rear fenders, hidden headlights and whale tail rear spoiler, this iconic design has lots of life left in her and accelerates like a rocket. Not many faults on her, and this could be your entry into the German sports car market.
