2001 Ford F250 Super Duty

I'm pretty confident it's the longest running" truck tag line out there, says Doug Scott, Ford's Truck Group marketing manager. " 'Built Ford Tough' is the essence of what we're all about." They're also about selling trucks, which Ford has managed to do in abundance in the 41 years that its high-profit truck line has stayed atop the sales heap. They outsell all other car or truck nameplates. Scott says the tag line is a big reason for that success.

Exterior
Impressive to say the least, as this is one large truck. Crew cab with true size 4 doors, there is no fooling around here. Beautiful straight tough steel, well minded gaps, and all bathed in True Blue Metallic in super condition. Chrome is large and in charge here with all excellent surfaces. Even on the tubular side steps (2013 Ford OEM Nerf Bars) we are looking good to go. The full-size bed is lined, and the liner is in good used condition. A HD towing package has been added on. 20” Factory Ford wheels from right out of 2013 shine on in all 4 corners and are wrapped with Michelin LTX tires. Super duper!

Interior
Strapping on my carabiners, I'm preparing to belay up into this ultra-comfortable cabin. Once in, I'm met with medium graphite leather front buckets. These are power seats and can be adjusted to fit anyone. The back part of the cab sports a spacious bench which could also double as your couch in your home. Door panels have been meticulously cared for, and have gray, with black and wood accents, as well as plenty of power controls. The dash is original and clean and save for the new Pioneer touch screen head unit, complete with XM and Bluetooth, is hands free if you want it to be. The factory radio has been retained and will come with the truck. Up above, the headliner is tight, and carpeting is nearly in new condition in gray. The original steering wheel wrapped in leather has some wear. Super comfortable.

Drivetrain
An upgraded 7.3 liter V8 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel has a “Wicked Wheel” turbo impeller and a Banks Big Head waste gate actuator. Diesel is delivered by EFI, and an 4R100 4-speed automatic is attached to the back. Limited slip Dana 4.56 gears have been put on to both differentials. Supercharged...actually its Turbocharged.

Undercarriage
Pretty typical for a truck from 2001, we note some patina slight spotty surface rust, but structurally solid, and all well maintained. Leaf spring suspension and power disc brakes are attached to all corners underneath. Also seen are upgraded ceramic brake pads, drilled and slotted rotors, and new front coated calipers.

Drive-Ability
I can tell you it is well worth the climb as this truck starts immediately and runs smoothly. No Turbo lag here, and plenty of pure power. It also stops on a dime. Transmission shifts smoothly, and the ride is nice for a 4x4. But then again what would one expect from a Certified diesel tech owner?

A great example of a big 4x4 crew cab, turbo diesel, expertly maintained, nice exterior paint and chrome, clean interior, and solid framework. If you are looking for an upgrade but you do not want to break the bank, you should take a serious look at this one. Original manual, window sticker, maintenance records and extra parts will arrive with this truck. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
