1937 Ford Sedan

1937 Ford Sedan

The Art Deco Style was all the rage in 1937, and Ford designers seized the moment with the slant-back and humpback sedans. A road to hood V grille, teardrop headlights, split rear window, curvaceous rear lines with two tiny red oval angled taillights were the inspirations taken from the movement. The slant-back was hailed as one of the most beautiful designs of the decade.

Exterior
This 1937 2-Door slant-back has undergone a ground up restoration. The original steel exterior has been meticulously restored, and a fiberglass hood replaces the original. Gorgeous multi layered faded flame airbrushing adorns the open cowling engine compartment, and fades to the rear of the doors. A black base color covered with multi coats of clear coat, giving the flawless exterior finish a look that appear to be a mile deep. Running boards with Ford step plates, connect the front and rear curved fenders. Sunken rear tail lights keep the clean swept-back line.

Interior
Two extra-large Glyde brand red vinyl seats equipped with racing harnesses, and a flip down armrest, create a beautiful contrast to the Wabbits wood dash, and grey interior painted surround. New instrumentation including a tachometer, is framed by a Rallye steering wheel. An AM/FM/CD radio with an I-pod hookup drives Infinity speakers and 2 massive Audiobahn sub woofers mounted in the rear deck. Air conditioning, power windows, power steering, and tinted glass have been added. A floor shifter with machined aluminum knob in a center console fits neatly in front of the bench seats, and like all other floor surfaces, is covered with durable rubber flooring. A headliner is absent, and the front window surround is unfinished. Black vinyl panels cover the door insides.

Drivetrain
A 502 CI Chevrolet crate engine puts out a neck snapping 502hp and is adorned with abundant gleaming chrome. All that power goes through a TH400 3 speed automatic transmission. A 4:11 posi-trac rear, puts the horsepower to the ground. Aluminum wheels inside 195/60R15 front tires, and 31 x 18.50 R15 rear tires, add contrast to the black fender surrounds, and provide plenty of grip. The Dual Jet Hot Coat Performance exhaust system appears virtually new. 4-wheel power disc brakes bring the car to a safe and quick stop. This performance machine sits sturdily on a new aftermarket rectangular tube frame.

Extras for this fully restored Ford include 2 full binders of organized receipts, timeline photos, and handwritten expenses. 2 additional folders contain part labels, receipts, and some owner's manuals for installed upgrades. Virtually all paperwork has been retained from the build.

This painstakingly restored and upgraded street rod, shows the blood sweat and tears put into it. Build documentation reads like a who's who in the street rod world, and no expense was spared. The old Art Deco body style has been tastefully retained while adding modern conveniences. This very powerful, fast and safe grocery getter will get you there and back with plenty of head turning, and in record time!
