1995 Mazda Miata M-Edition

1995 Mazda Miata M Edition

The Mazda Miata had a trim level that was a bump up from the standard Miata from 1995. That being the M edition. With this one would have the addition of A/C, 15-inch alloy wheels, a Torsen limited slip differential, leather seats, tan vinyl top and power accessories to name a few. An upgrade from the standard Mazda Miata that is a real curve carver with minimal power but who cares, it's all in the curves… (Which is true for cars and people!).

For consignment, a consigner described classic beauty, all original. Bathed in Merlot Mica, sporting an M version upgrade, lots of extra chrome, and absolutely a great corner carver, and sporty looks. The look of the classic MG's or Triumphs of yore, but reliability of a Japanese built sports car. Top down, wind in your hair…Tenno Heika Banzai!!

Exterior
With the exception of a very few small scratches and some chrome wear off on the door handles, this car presents as excellent. Straight steel, nice Merlot Mica paint, and featuring BBS 15-inch woven spoke mag wheels! A tan vinyl convertible top is on this car, and it has a clear plastic rear window. Hidden headlights, a body matching rounded neoprene bumper and the small lower grille opening is just smiling at you with delight and showing shades of Lightning McQueen. More round for the rear, and wrap around aero taillights. Badging and stainless-steel rocker coverings is just enough bling to be tasteful yet sporty as you “tool” around the country back roads.

Interior
As with all the M edition optioned Miatas, this one has a wonderfully preserved Nardi tan leather interior. This adorns the doors and seats which are high back buckets with headrests. These seats also have a Miata badge barely visible, but it's there, stitched into the backs just below the headrests. This was formerly known as the NA option and the headrests are adjustable. Molded black plastic created the curvaceous dash for the center and instrument cluster of the dash. Plenty of burl wood highly lacquered is accenting the center of the dash which also features plenty of industrial designed chromed inserts and eyeball vents. A black center console races through the buckets, and a nifty shifter with a wood topper is within this console. Nice clean tan carpeting is installed from the factory and is in mint condition. Miata badged, shiny door thresholds are seen on either side upon entry, and there is plenty of legroom for those who tend to be taller. Headroom is unlimited when the top is down, (imagine that!?) A nice tan tonneau covering hides the convertible top when in the down position. Also noted is a leather wrapped steering wheel, A/C, wood shift knob and parking brake lever, power windows, power steering, power mirrors, and power antenna, all working. All very clean and nicely done finished off with a dual U bump chromed roll bar right behind the occupants' seats.

Drivetrain
A pop of the bonnet, and we are greeted with a 1.8 Liter L4 DOHC 16V 4-cylinder engine. This has EFI and a 5-speed manual transmission on back with a 4.10 limited slip Torsen differential.

Undercarriage
Underneath we note showroom condition with shiny black floor pans, and solid suspension which all round is independent double wishbones. Power disc brakes give the car its woah! factor. Clean rust-free exhaust, and solid structural unibody construction for this example.

Drive-Ability
She fires right up and on the test track the highlight of this car is the cornering. Rail-like and there literally there is no corner too tight for this sports car to carve up like the Thanksgiving turkey. Decent acceleration, and bias free braking were all experienced during my test drive. Also, all electronic power functionality was working just right baby bear…

A wonderful spotless 1995 example of the Miata M option edition. Always garaged, and well taken care of, it is in very good condition, and a great car for someone who wants to get into the sports car scene with a very affordable amount of money, and you're in a classic sports car, albeit from Japan. A two-seater performer never looked so good and reliability is off the charts.
